　　i teach economics at unlv three times per week. last monday, at the beginning of class, i cheerfully asked my students how their weekend had been. one young man said that his weekend had not been so good. he had his wisdom teeth removed. the young man then proceeded to ask me why i always seemed to be so cheerful.

　　我在内华达大学拉斯维加斯分校教经济学，每周上三次课。上周一，在刚开始上课的时候，我兴致勃勃地问学生们周末过得怎么样。一个男生说，他的周末不太愉快，因为他的智齿被拔掉了，结果让他痛了一整天。然后，他又问我为何我总能保持那么快乐的心情。

　　his question reminded me of something id read somewhere before: every morning when you get up, you have a choice about how you want to approach life that day, i said. i choose to be cheerful.

　　他的问题使我想起了一句不知出处的话：每天早上，当你起床的时候，你可以选择如何面对一天的生活，我说：我选择快乐。

　　let me give you an example, i continued, addressing all sixty students in the class. in addition to teaching here at unlv, i also teach out at the community college in henderson, 17 miles down the freeway from where i live.

　　one day a few weeks ago i drove those 17 miles to henderson. i exited the freeway and turned onto college drive. i only had to drive another quarter mile down the road to the college. but just then my car died. i tried to start it again, but the engine wouldnt turn over. so i put my flashers on, grabbed my books, and marched down the road to the college.

　　We have recently held a class meeting to discuss the pressure upon everyone of us Senior Three students. At the meeting everyone expressed their own opinions on how to get relieved from pressure.

　　Pressure comes from all around: from the heavy load of learning, from the fierce competition, from teachers, and from parents. Pressure may affect our studies if there’s too much of it. However, if taken positively, a certain amount of pressure may help push us ahead.

　　Whenever I find there’s too much pressure, I choose to work out or listen to some light music, which seems to be quite effective. There are many approaches to getting oneself relieved when pressure accumulates. I strongly recommend that when you feel much too stressed, you stop whatever you are doing, get out into the open, take a deep breath, and start thinking of something positive.

　　我好累啊，天啊！这英语为啥这么难学啊，做个英语作业简直要我老命。我太难了，不就是想好好学个英语嘛，咋就这么困难呢？还是我跟英语水土不服啊，学不好英语？这英语作业最难的就是口语作业了，有时候自我感觉不是很好的时候读的分数反而更高，感觉读的还行的时候又一直是不及格的分数。简直崩溃，我都搞不清楚，这到底是我读的问题，还是手机系统出错了。真的是难以理解，读到怀疑人生啊！

　　英语作业还有一大把没写完，但是这个英语口语作业都还没完成，重点是完成的一点都不顺利，这直接严重影响到了我继续读下去和写作业的心情。我有那么一瞬间是想要放弃继续读的，但是我不能放弃，求英语善待我一下。我真的好难，对英语我真的是既喜欢又崩溃，喜欢是因为我觉得学会英语很酷，崩溃是因为我的英语口语作业太难完成了，老是读不好。一直读不好我真的是太崩溃了。其实吧，我觉得应该是系统不好的缘故，之前都不会这样一直读一直读都是不及格的分数。即使这样，我还是得顽强的把这些作业给完成，也许这次完成的不会像之前那么好，但是我尽力完成好点。

　　英语啊英语，求放过啊！废话不多说了，我要继续和我的英语口语作斗争了。
